The future of manufacturing is happening now at UNI
The UNI Metal Casting Center (MCC) has been a nationwide leader in the foundry industry since its inception in 1990. With the addition of the Additive Manufacturing and Design Center at the TechWorks Campus in Waterloo, it continues to push the industry through innovation, and an open house onThursday, June 30, is being held to celebrate. The MCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Center has considered the TechWorks Campus its home since 2013, but the addition of the Design Center will allow for greater capabilities and outreach. The location focuses on additive manufacturing and is home to the largest 3-D printer of its type in North America. With the ability to 3-D print plastics, sand molds and metal parts as well as provide student and workforce training directly to the industry, the Additive Manufacturing and Design Center will be the premier center of its kind, globally. The open house is being held from noon to 4 p.m., Thursday, June 30, to celebrate the opening of the Additive Manufacturing and Design Center at the TechWorks Campus, located at 360 Westfield Avenue in Waterloo.
