Spring Commencement Update

The University of Northern Iowa will hold a virtual spring commencement and three modified in-person ceremonies. All spring 2021 graduates may attend the virtual ceremony or one of in-person ceremonies on May 7 or 8, or both.

For the in-person ceremonies, students will be given four tickets to share with their guests. The event will be livestreamed. Only ticketed guests will be allowed to enter and social distancing and face masks are required. Doors will open one hour prior to the ceremony. Professional photos will be taken after the graduate walks across the stage.

In the virtual commencement celebration, there will be congratulatory videos from the president, provost, student government president, UNI Alumni Association, faculty, as well as a student speaker that has been selected by their respective college as commencement speaker.
