UNI supports student success through job fairs
A popular campus jobs fair hosted by UNI Career Services returned this year to an in-person format and saw a nearly 60 percent increase in businesses attending.
The Career Fair, held Sept. 28, drew over 190 employers and 1,033 students who had the opportunity to network, share resumes, identify possible career paths and ask personalized questions of representatives from some of the state’s largest companies along with nonprofits and graduate schools.
“We heard over and over again from employers how happy they were to be back on campus for this year's fair,” said Joann Mulholland, UNI career services coordinator. “They enjoy being able to make in-person connections with our students.”
“BerganKDV is continually impressed by UNI’s well-executed Career Fair,” said Crystal Ford, market leader for professional services firm BerganKDV and one of the recruiters who attended the fair last week. “It is an event that we look forward to and always have great excitement to attend. We met several amazing candidates for internships and full-time opportunities with our firm. We already have one accepted offer back and several more offers out directly from attending the event and meeting very talented UNI students!”
Students were also able to meet recruiters from various graduate schools and organizations and learn about a variety of opportunities including internships, full-time and part-time employment, and advanced degrees.
Nearly 95 of recent UNI graduates were employed or enrolled in advanced studies within six months of graduation.
