UNI sees record success from annual day of giving

Alumni, students and friends of the University of Northern Iowa pushed the university to its largest day of giving ever and fourth consecutive year growing total dollars raised. The annual Live Purple Give Gold event brought in 1,748 donors who raised a record $531,365 in gifts.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Panther community, we achieved our most successful day of giving ever, raising over half a million dollars to support our students, programs and the heart of what makes UNI so special,” said Jim Jermier, vice president of University Advancement and president of the UNI Foundation. “This record-breaking day reflects a deep commitment to our mission and a shared belief in the power of UNI to change lives.”

Donors’ giving and dollars raised had the opportunity to unlock 26 challenges to increase support for UNI. Over 110 student and program funds across the university benefited from donations throughout the day. Student participation hit a record high with 230 making a gift to UNI.

The 2025 day of giving was the fourth consecutive year UNI saw an increase in dollars raised. There were 144 new first-time donors to UNI. The average gift for the day was $150.
