Showcasing UNI at the Capitol
The University of Northern Iowa will host UNI Day at the Statehouse from 1 to 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, at the Iowa Capitol in Des Moines. The event will highlight UNI programs and inform participants about the impact UNI has on the state.
"UNI Day at the Capitol is a tremendous opportunity for us to showcase why UNI is so valuable to the state of Iowa," said UNI President Bill Ruud. "The number of students, faculty and alumni that volunteer to engage with legislators and advocate on our behalf at the Statehouse is a testament to the passion that people have for this great university. We had a terrific turnout last year, and I'm looking forward to another successful UNI Day this year."
At UNI Day at the Capitol, students, faculty and staff will showcase interactive displays highlighting various UNI programs, departments and organizations. Alumni are encouraged to attend to reconnect with their university and speak with their elected officials about the value of UNI.
