Knowledge + Skills + Experience = Success

While this year's spring weather might not be reminding us of it, graduation is just a few weeks away for many Panthers. UNI students are not only busy with papers and projects, but also internships and professional experiences. According to UNI's First Destination Report, UNI has a strong record of connecting students to relevant professional experiences that prepare them for success in their chosen fields.

“One of the biggest ways UNI helped me prepare for my career was giving me multiple opportunities to have real-world experiences,” said Caleb Wubben, a December '17 graduate and teacher at Manson Northwest Webster.

UNI faculty and staff work with students and employers to create opportunities that provide students the chance to gain hands-on, real-world experiences and develop the skills they need.

“John Deere purposely selects UNI as a school to recruit from. UNI students are well prepared to enter the business world with the skills needed to be successful and are ready to make an immediate impact to our business,” shared Amanda Smith, John Deere Human Resources Representative. “As an employer, there is no question that UNI faculty spend time with the students to train them to be professional, great communicators and lifelong learners.”

Students preparing to graduate in May might not feel the warmth from the sun quite yet, but their hearts should be warmed knowing they have the knowledge and skills that are necessary to succeed. UNI's First Destination Report shows that, over the past four years, 95 percent of UNI graduates find success within six months of graduation.
