Help UNI thank Iowa Lawmakers

Last fall, the Board of Regents committed to freezing resident undergraduate tuition if the Iowa General Assembly approved a 2.6 percent increase in state funding for our public universities. Last week, the Iowa Legislature did their part and this fall UNI resident undergraduates will not face a tuition increase for the first time in 30 years. This is news worth celebrating.

The Iowa House and Senate also approved an additional $10 million for UNI in recognition of our historic focus on educating Iowa residents, and therefore our greater reliance on state funding. This funding, along with new resources for economic development, STEM education and building upgrades, means students will continue to receive a world-class education at the University of Northern Iowa. Please contact your state senator or representative to join UNI in thanking our legislators.

Your emails and letters throughout the legislative session helped make the difference. Thank you for your time and support of Panther Caucus and the University of Northern Iowa!
