Expansion of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses is the Focus of Advance Iowa
Business owners and entrepreneurs alike know running a business can be tedious and time consuming. Planning and decision making is a never-ending process and often they are not sure where to turn for help.
Luckily, Iowa businesses have the Advance Iowa program at UNI, a part of Business & Community Services, to lean on for support. The Advance Iowa team is there for business owners as a third party sounding board and trusted adviser to assist in overcoming obstacles and help identify new opportunities.
Initially launched as the economic gardening center for the state, Advance Iowa has taken these concepts and initiatives to become a comprehensive consulting program designed to work with Iowas mid-sized companies to enhance growth. Partnering with economic development organizations across the state, they are able to identify and recruit the companies that may need assistance to push through that proverbial plateau so many reach in their business and continue to grow.
Last year alone, Advance Iowa directly assisted 85 different clients in all corners of the state through many forms. Services are specifically tailored to meet individual client needs and include everything from strategic planning and financial benchmarking, to market intelligence and succession planning.
